One of One

“‘Are you the one who is to come, or shall we
look for another?’ And Jesus answered them, ‘Go
and tell John what you hear and see: the blind
receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are
cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are
raised up, and the poor have good news
preached to them. And blessed is the one who is
not offended by me.'” (Matthew 11:3b-6)

Our study today is taking a look at the fact that
Jesus is indeed “One of One.” When the disciples
of John the Baptist came to Jesus, they (and
John) were sincerely looking for the Messiah,
God’s Chosen One and wanted to be certain that
Jesus was that One. His response was to explain
all the evidence that could be seen and believed
about His position as the Son of God. The same
should be true of us today. We should be
studying this morning to know for certain that
Jesus is the One that was spoken of by the
prophets, the One promised by God in the
garden, the very Messiah that was longed for and
hoped for. As our study progresses, and as we see
and hear the evidence presented in the word of
God, we will no doubt be left with only one
option: Jesus Christ is the Holy One, the Chosen
One of God, the Righteous One, the Messiah.
